• COVID-19 vaccination

  We are sorry, we don't offer Corona vaccinations in our office. But we are happy to refer you to vaccination centres (medical offices, pharmacies) nearby.

  According to STIKO recommendations people >60 years and/or people with chronic diseases/impaired immune system should get a yearly booster vaccination; no time intervals with other vaccinations needed.
  Basic COVID-19-immunity is reached for people >18 years with three immunologic events (either infection or vaccination, at least one vaccination). In case of healthy individuals <18 years there is no COVID-19-vaccination recommended (STIKO update January 2024).

• COVID-19 testing/testing for influenza (flue)

  If you have flue-like symptoms (fever, myalgia, headache, general malaise and/or problems breathing, cough, loss of taste) please call or write an Email instead of coming without appointment to our office!
  We still offer a separate opening hour only for infectious disease patients mon/tue/thu/fri between 12:00 and 13:00. Please phone or write an Email in advance!

• General information

  In october 2020 Tessa Willers and Relindis Giedeck have succeeded Peter Nowak who had led the Mommsenpraxis for more than 30 years. After another year with all three doctors, Peter Nowak had left the Mommsenpraxis in 2021 to enjoy retirement.
  The Mommsen team hasn`t changed since, neither has the spectrum of diagnostics we provide.
  Relindis Giedeck who specialized in cardiology complements the diagnostic offer with arterial duplex-ultrasound.

  Please note our opening hours in the afternoon: Mondays and Thursdays from 15:00-18:00 !

• Health checks and prevention

  -Every 3 years German health insurances offer a general medical check (“Gesundheitscheck”) to all their members from age 35 onward. A medical check is offered just once also for younger adults between 18 and 34 years.

  -For all men age 65 or older ultrasound screening for abdominal aneurysm is offered once.

  -From age 50 stool testing is provided to all in the context of coloncancer screening. People over 55 may use a colonoscopy for screening instead.

  -hepatitis B and C testing is offered once to all members of German health insurances.

  We recommend the following vaccinations:

  • flue (influenza) yearly for winter season for all
  • corona booster -together with flue vaccination- for chronic patients and adults age 60 or older
  • pneumonia (pneumococcal disease) for chronic patients and adults age 60 or older
  • shingles (Herpes zoster) for chronic patients and adults age 60 or older
  • booster vaccination against tetanus, diptheria and whooping cough every 10 years
